Bob and I were friends and fellow cricket nuts for exactly fifty years. Playing colleagues to start with; club administrators; then Colts organisers at various times. [Bob] then moved on to umpiring at a high level (a skill set that I couldn’t master!) In more recent years we just settled for quiet chats in the sunshine at Fernhill, enjoying the cricket, and moaning about Saints! He will be missed, but as long as there is an NMCC, he will be remembered.
New Forest Association of Cricket Umpires & Scorers Bob was a committee member and for many years was a tutor on our training courses
New Forest Club Cricket Association & New Forest Junior Cricket Association. Bob umpired in our competitions
A pound for each year of his life
We were very sad to hear of Bob’s demise, Bob was very helpful to me for many years in sorting out all our Insurance needs when I worked at Vanguard Fixings and later when he assisted in the office there. We would often discuss football and cricket.

Hi Sue, thanks for giving me the chance to put something back into a club into which your dad put so much effort & time and some occasional guidance from Square Leg to a wayward bowler!

In memory of a dear father, father-in-law, and grandfather. Cricket was his passion, and he would have loved our support of this initiative, to further youth development at his 'home' club.
